Don Sherman : The Singing Chef
Don Sherman, a natural figure on Rupavahini, is maybe Sri Lanka's just singing gourmet specialist. Another era performer/cook, he combines the taste and qualities of the east and the west in both his cooking and his singing, doling out musical passage that is remarkably exciting.
A self declared rap artiste, Sherman, as of late discharged his introduction collection titled 'Mang Handai' with 16 unique tunes, 15 of them in Sinhala. What's more he will be after this up with an uncommon musical cookery show/workshop at the Namal Malani Punch Theater, in Borella, today.
A previous understudy of Maris Stella College, Negombo, Sherman, who was dependably musically grades concentrated on music as a subject in school and shaped his own particular band named 'Zero -5' with his comrades. Later he joined the "Worlds" and stayed with them for six years.
Parallel with his music, Sherman supported his enthusiasm toward cooking and mulled over expert cookery at Swiss Asia School of Hotel Management and Tourism and at the Ceylon Hotel School. He worked at Hotel Lanka Oberoi and the Sri Lankan Catering Service before joining Keels Food as a Demonstration Chef.
