Chandrananda de Silva Passes Away





Previous Commissioner of Elections and representative Chandrananda de Silva has passed away toward the beginning of today at 78 years old.

The veteran open worker passed away at  his living arrangement in Rajagiriya.

R.K.Chandrananda de Silva accepted obligations as Commissioner of Elections on May fourth, 1982.

Amid this period new framework Elections as embraced in 1978 Constitution came into operation. The Presidential Election and the Referendum accompanied this framework.

The Parliamentary General Elections Act was corrected to incorporate the arrangement of Proportional Representation, and later in 1988 the checking of Preferences was presented.

A veteran common worker, Mr de Silva likewise served as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to United Arab Emirates.
